A Personal message from Tom,

The music business is hard enough to make your way through without the greed and political nonsense that has destroyed our nations economy. If you take the time to read this you understand that the funds you had last year to spend on recording don't exist this year. Fortunately for you,  I don't derive my livelihood from the studio. I watch as small studios go in and out of business trying to build that perfect acoustically treated room with that big mixing board and of course the lounge and snack machines and bottled water. In my humble opinion, your music is not about the trappings of the studio, but rather a serious attempt to reproduce your creation.

Dallasrecording has been around for quite a while and although I have been tempted to move into a commercial facility and add more trappings, I have hesitated knowing that I cannot be everything to everyone. There is business that I turn down because of limitations of size, etc. However, the client that does use Dallasrecording, usually comes back time after time because they receive exactly what they need.

Since the downturn in the economy the business has fallen by at least 50 percent. I do feel compassion for the studios who have invested in the commercial facilities and pay the monthly rent and in turn have to charge more per hour than they would like. It is for this reason that I intend to reduce my pricing to match what I believe the market will bear and at least cover some of my time. I have initiated my own stimulus package.  I don't know how long I will maintain this package but for now I will honor a price of $20.00 per hour. This would require a  two hour minimum for any one session during the week. There will be no block time packages or other discounts available.  I will continue this price until I feel that the economy has recovered or until I close the door on commercial recording. Good luck on your future projects and I hope you will allow Dallasrecording the opportunity to participate.

Thank You

Tom Hardin
